MECHANICS - DOCTORS. Does the Quality of their Assistance Justify the Fees? (additional information)
Mechanics take care of our cars. Doctors take care of our bodies. We need to deal with the representatives of both occupations on a regular basis for a healthy survival, and yet many times we are not satisfied with the results.
The book describes the reasons why we are so frequently disappointed with the quality of assistance of our mechanic, sometimes even with that of our doctor. It also discusses the exorbitantly high fees presently charged by both mechanics and doctors in the United States, fees which make it difficult to impossible, for individuals lacking the necessary financial means or satisfactory coverages (in the case of doctors), to afford the final bills. It compares the health care system in the United States with the one in the other countries of the Western world. It denounces the lack of a satisfactory medical plan in a country that is well ahead in most other services to the public.
The second half of the book suggests means to sensibly deal with the representatives of both occupations, means which will provide effective results, while dramatically reducing the expenses.
